Covid -19 Measures
We have always paid very close attention to keeping our office spaces safe and clean!
We meet or exceed Recommendations of the CDC, FDA, ADA and CDA. Just some of the measures we are taking include:
Disinfection of all surfaces between patients (including our reception area) with high level disinfectants
Use of a Hospital Grade HEPA Filtration System
Staggering patient appointments
Electronic Forms filled out on your own device in advance of appointments
In Office Covid-19 Patient Screening and Temperature check
Patient use of Antimicrobial mouth rinse prior to Dental Treatment
Staff Covid-19 testing on a regular basis
Infection Control in Dr. Adams’ Practice
It’s understandable to be concerned about the corona virus. As healthcare providers we are mandated to obey CDC, OSHA, CDPH, MHHS guidelines, just as hospitals do, in the prevention of cross contamination to mitigate any exposure to the corona virus. Additionally we follow ADA and CDA guidelines.
Please know that the precautions we already utilize every day to prevent the spread of infection in our practice also helps prevent the spread of COVID-19. Before you enter the operatory room, all surfaces, such as the dental chair, dental light, drawer handles, and countertops, have been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected and equipment is shielded with protective covers and is replaced after each patient. All non-disposable items such as the dental instruments are high-heat sterilized between uses. Disposable dental instruments and needles are never reused and are disposed of in a medical waste container, just as hospitals do.
Infection control precautions also require all dental staff involved in direct patient care to use appropriate protective gear such as gloves, masks, and eyewear. After each patient, disposable gloves and masks are thrown away. Before seeing the next patient, everyone on the treatment team sanitizes and washes their hands and puts on a new pair of gloves.
Upon arrival we request that you use hand sanitizer provided or wash your hands. Surfaces in our reception area will be disinfected between each patient. We ask that you arrive promptly at your appointment time wearing a face covering. If you arrive early please wait in your car or outside until your scheduled appointment so we can minimize the number of patients at one time in our reception area. As an additional precaution we have altered our schedule and spaced patient appointment times. We are aiming to serve one patient at a time. We will take your temperature and have you rinse with a virucidal mouthwash prior to treatment. We have added a medical grade H13 HEPA filtration system.
Please feel free to call or email us if you have any questions.
Wash your hands and stay healthy.
